On Sunday 28th May 2017 BMCB performed to a packed and enthusiastic crowd at Katoomba Public School. They were wowed by both the energetic strains of pieces like 'Stars Wars', the peaceful beauty and control in 'Hymn to the Fallen' and the magic sounds of 'The Wizard of Oz'.
All pieces performed were themes from well known movies. Here is the program:

The band was accompanied by the Katoomba Public School Band for 'Ghostbusters' and 'Skyfall'. They also performed great renditions of 'Happy Farmer' and 'A New Year'.
All proceeds from the concert will go to the Blue Mountains City Band Academy which promotes and trains our young and beginner musicians.
This year (2017) Blue Mountains City Band celebrates its 80th anniversary. We are packing our year with a number of concerts and performance enagagements in both the local area and further abroad. At this point we've already performed at the inaugural Australia Day Family Fun day at Wilson Park in Wentworth Falls as well as at the Australia Day Citizenship ceremony in Springwood.
To commerate the year we've taken the historic photo below. Both photos were taken in the Kingsford Smith Park (Katoomba) sound shell.

During December BMCB took to the streets performing Christmas Carols to the delight of shoppers and tourists. We played at Katoomba town square, Coles Katoomba, The Carrington steps, Leura Mall. Two fund raising pub crawls were also made. Friday 23rd Dec saw the band perform to patrona at Lawson, Wentworth Falls, Leura, Katoomba and Blackheath. The second crawl was on Christmas eve and took in Katoomba and Blackheath. Funds raised will be put towards instrument repairs and new music.

Blue Mountain City Band performed to a full house at St Hilda's Anglican Church Katoomba on Sunday 10th December 2016. They were accompanied by the Heathen Choir from Blackheath and the Katoomba Primary School Band. The program for the afternoon went as follows:
